Advantages of underground communication

Installation of trenchless communications is an effective and affordable method demanded by organizations and individual clients. Lateral drilling allows the laying of pipes and wires under obstacles such as roads, railroad tracks and water obstacles. The cost of installation is greatly reduced and the speed is increased.

Types of communication for underground installation

Horizontal drilling services are in demand during the installation of various types of communications. This technology is in demand in situations such as:

  • Laying of water supply, sewerage and heating networks in residential, commercial and office buildings, if necessary;
  • When it is necessary to lay high-pressure gas pipelines or industrial pipelines.
  • Undergrounding of electric wires, optical fibers and other communication lines is being actively implemented with HDD technology.
  • This technology has other uses as well. With the help of modern equipment, you can bypass obstacles located underground.

Options for laying communications underground

Before installing communications underground, the soil type and properties are investigated. Pipeline diameter and length and other details of the project are taken into consideration. There are two ways to do the job.

Use of hydraulic jack

This technique is very popular and in demand. With the help of hydraulic jacks, durable pipes made of high-quality steel are driven into the soil. Soil gets inside and is gradually pushed to the surface. With the help of special equipment, excavation of the earth is carried out and brought out by cars.

The dimensions of the steel case are 1 meter long. Metal chips are allowed. The technology used allows you to go underground up to 5 meters per shift. The maximum length of the channel for establishing communication cannot exceed 80 meters.

Horizontal drilling

HDD technology is becoming more and more in demand due to its objective advantages compared to other methods of laying communications. This method pre-places the input and output wells. A horizontal well is then drilled and expanded to the required size.

The next stage is to tighten the pipeline string to the well. The maximum length of communication is 1.2 km, and work can be performed at depths of up to 25 meters.

Use of tunnel equipment

Another option for laying communications is the use of AVN tunneling shields. A jack station is installed in the initial pit. The laying of communications is carried out by the action of microshields, which are in continuous motion. The pipeline is pulled into the completed hole in the ground.

Advantages of underground communication

Each of the three technologies has its own characteristics and is in demand among service customers. The advantages of underground options for laying communications are:

  • Minimal earthwork. Requires the involvement of special equipment for a limited time. Excavation is carried out as required.
  • Landscape and landscaping are not compromised during underground work. No time or expense is required for recovery.
  • There is little environmental damage to the area. It is not damaged when laying green areas.
  • All work can be done at any time of the year. Underground pipe laying shows the same efficiency whether winter or summer.
  • Since the work is carried out exclusively underground, there is no need to impede or restrict the movement of vehicles or pedestrians.
  • The choice of installation method for underground utilities depends on the customer of the service. Costs are calculated individually depending on the volume and complexity of the work.
